'We thouroughly enjoyed our holiday in Burgau.
The village was just what we were looking for combining a beautiful beach; a friendly atmosphere; plenty of good restaurants and bars to try as well as retaining its charm with an interesting network of narrow lanes to explore. The apartment was well maintained and tastefully decorated as well as being perfectly situated with breathtaking views of the beach, cliffs and ocean.
The constant sound of the sea helped to make a very relaxing setting for our holiday.
Local buses were timetabled conviently making visits to Lagos or other villages further west easy to plan.
We particularly enjoyed eating at Beira Mar and the Indian restaurant whilst the Beach Bar was great for both food and an evening drink.

Burgau is situated 15 minutes west of Lagos and 15 minutes east of Sagres, the furthest southern west point of Europe. In the village of Burgau there are plenty of nice restaurants and bars to enjoy with a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Lagos is close by for more nightlife.

Nearby activities include - tennis, horse riding, mountain bike hire, golf, diving, walking, bowling, archery, and a gym health and beauty spa at the famous Parque da Floresta Golf and Leisure Resort (where instruction can be arranged for all of the above).

Other activities include fishing, windsurfing and many other water sports. The Burgau sports centre is also close by and runs a varied programme including lots of childrens activities.

Burgau offers easy access to the Algarve's World famous courses with Parque Da Floresta being the nearest one. With outstanding courses, great value and spectacular scenery to challenge golfers of all levels you wont be spoilt for choice. Burgau has a lovely, sandy beach with safe swimming and bathing. There are many beaches along the south coast, all safe for swimming, or if you really want to get away from it all, 15 minutes west you can find many wild and rugged beaches along the "Costa Vincentina" coastline.
