Handy for hikers and ornithologists, it can be reached by coastal pathways from Luz to Salema, walking through some extraordinary and dramatic scenery steeped in an abundance of wildlife. It is also handy for the Algarve stretch of empty west coast beaches with their wild, natural beauty, tall granite cliffs and seas great for surfing. Just a five minute drive to the fantastic golf course of the Parque du Floresta or if you fancy saddling up, there is also a riding school nearby.
