This apartment is located in a prime position near Dona Ana beach, to the south of Lagos old town. There are many restaurants, bars & shops nearby and dozens more around within walking distance. AtLagos Marina you can book boat trips, dolphin watching safaris, fishing excursions etc. The 4.5km beach of Meia Praia can be reached by a short ferry trip (2 min) across the river mouth - the ferry is about a 10 min walk away.

The beautiful town of Lagos with its vast selection of restaurants, bars, shops, fish market and evening entertainment is a few short stroll over the bridge, which leads directly onto the Esplanade. The bus terminal and train station that services Lagos to the rest of the Algarve are only minute's walk from the Marina apartment which means exploring the Algarve is very easy and car hire, while recommended to make the most of your holiday, is not necessary.

Essentially now an important tourist town there are still many architectural signs of its ancient past, even a building dating originally back to around 1445 and is recorded as being Europe’s first building used as a slave-market. The walls of the town are in most parts remaining after areas of restoration.

Lagos centre is pedestrianised and the town is very lively in the evenings. With its winding streets and relaxed atmosphere it retains an old world Portuguese charm. Sit in the Marina and watch the world go by or stroll along the beautiful waterfront or visit the nearby sandy beaches....the choice is yours.

The Algarve is undoubtedly one of the World's greatest golf destinations. The apartment is ideally situated for Golfing holidays being within 15 minutes from 5 great golf courses of Palmares (the nearest course to Lagos Marina), Boavista, Parque de Floresta, Alto Club and the world famous Sir Henry Cotton's Penina Golf Complex. Sailing

Near to the apartments there are many leisure activities, being near to the marina there are many boat trips including anything from hiring a private yacht for the day or just a few hours to visit the Grottos of Ponte da Piedade or take a BBQ Cruise in the bay of Lagos and along the most impressive cave and rock formations.

Dolphin Safaris

You can book a dolphin safari from Lagos Marina. A high speed boat takes you out to see the dolphins & you can generally see them at close range. This has become a 'must do' for everyone coming on holiday to Lagos.

Other Activities

There are several excellent horse riding clubs along the coast and near to Lagos, a Zoo located just outside Lagos in the village of Barao de S. Joao. a Slide and Splash park in Lagoa. There are many walks taking you into lovely countryside, or along spectacular sections of the coastline which you are unlikely to see except on foot (There is a guide of these walks in the apartment for guests to use during there stay).

Dona Ana beach is a cosy little cove with golden sands, just a 5 minute walk from the apartment. Meia Praia beach is reached via a quick ferry crossing across the river mouth (2 min). The ferry is a short 10 min walk from the apartment. The beach is made of soft golden sand and is a couple of miles long. There are several beach bars for drinks, snacks and meals.
